Fall 2022 registration toolkit

In an effort to reach students before the end of spring term, ASU is implementing a high-touch, multichannel approach to registration communications.

The Office of the University Provost has created a Fall 2022 registration toolkit that outlines the delivery of key messages in order to reach audiences when it’s time for them to register.

New model releases for photo and video

Capturing moments through photography and video is an integral part of our role as marketers and communicators. Whether that work is done within the ASU ecosystem or through contractors, we must obtain appropriate model releases of subjects.

In collaboration with many units and the Office of General Councel, ASU has a new and improved model release available in English and Spanish. New fields have also been added based on input from the community.

Healthy campus updates

Did you know that an enterprisewide task force meets on a weekly basis to review and deploy highly coordinated communications surrounding COVID-19?

We will continue to provide important updates and reminders from this task force to the community as part of the Hub High Five and the ASU Marketing and Communications Slack workspace.

Face covering and signage updates
As of March 14, 2022, face coverings will not be required across ASU campuses, except in a few locations as indicated by posted signage, e.g., on intercampus shuttles, in health care settings and in some designated labs and high aerosol courses. Anyone (faculty, staff, students and visitors) on an ASU campus location may choose to wear a face covering at any time.

Facilities Management is working to remove signage across ASU campuses, except at the few locations noted above. The university will not be replacing the current signs.

Photography and video guidelines
Photography and video should reflect current ASU policy. Face coverings will not be required across ASU campuses, except in a few locations as indicated by posted signage, e.g., on intercampus shuttles, in health care settings and in some designated labs and high aerosol courses. Anyone on an ASU campus location may choose to wear a face covering at any time.

Web banner updates
The green COVID-19 web banner has been used the past two years to align with key university updates surrounding COVID-19. In response to the most recent university updates, UTO has added a COVID-19 information link to the gray bar of the asu.edu universal footer. Your unit will need to apply the 2.3.4 update to your Webspark 2 site(s) or manually update the component (for non-Webspark 2 sites).

Details on the release can be found here. As always, please back up your sites before upgrading. For help with upgrade best practices, see the Update and Configuration Management document.

Once the update is live on your site(s), you can remove the green COVID-19 banner from your pages. For questions, please see asu.edu/webservices.

Music for events article header image

Music for events

Music can be an important element of a live event, helping set the mood and excite your audience. Before choosing music for your events, it’s important to confirm you have the appropriate rights and licenses in place.

Regulations and laws are strictly enforced and units must follow the agreements. ASU Cultural Affairs and the Office of General Council have worked together to compile a more robust list of guidelines and resources for units.
